Dear applicant,

For more than 20 years the MBA-Tourism Management is the No1 Postgraduate Program in Business Administration specialized in Tourism (MBA-TM), in Greece.

All of us in the MBA-Tourism Management measure our success by the success of our students and graduates. The success of this particular program is related to the heterogeneity and the high profile of the students, the distinguished academic staff and business experts, the range of courses and the related academic activities, the modern academic facilities and the professional development of its graduates.

The curriculum is demanding, with such a structure (3 semesters, 17 courses, modern teaching and examination methods, dissertation, research activities, etc.), that its graduates obtain (a) general management skills to understand the business as a whole and its individual functions (production, sales, finance, human resources, etc.), and (b) knowledge of the individual issues of tourism companies, in order to successfully perform their administrative duties, to start up and operate their own (tourism) business, or to perform as (tourism) business consultants.

The knowledge and hard and soft skills that the MBA-TM helps you acquire and develop, during your studies are completely up-to-date and suitable for professional success in the business world and especially in tourism companies.

Apart from its dynamic character Tourism is a personality and experience intensive economic sector. The balanced provision of “technical” knowledge and cultivation of «soft” skills is the academic / educational approach of the MBA-Tourism Management, which aims at the development of a stakeholders` centric view and practice of our graduates.

Purposes of the

Program

The aims of the Postgraduate Program in Business Administration – Tourism Management of the Department of Business Administration of the University of Piraeus are:

  • The promotion of knowledge in Business Administration [combined with additional knowledge of the wider tourism sector (hospitality, travel and leisure industries)].
  • The creation of a high level of business executives with innovative administrative / professional knowledge.
  • The promotion of research (economic-business, social, environmental and cultural) for the development of businesses (and especially tourism) at local, national and international level.
  • The lifelong training of executives of Greek or international companies and organizations in the public or private sector.
  • The development of collaborations related to the purpose of the program with other HEIs. of Greece or abroad.
Who can

attend

MBA-Tourism candidates must hold a first degree from a Greek or foreign University (AEI), or a Greek Technological Educational Institution (TEI), according to the provisions of article 34 of law 4485/2017. 4485/2017.

The Program aims at graduates:

  • who want to do postgraduate studies in business administration, and / or more specific in tourism business administration.
  • who want to become leaders in existing companies or start their own.

Fees & Duration

Structure and duration

The duration of the Program is three semesters, which include two semesters of courses and one semester of the master’s Thesis. The Thesis of the Program is a pioneering and essential contribution to the Research and Study of Greek and International Tourism.

Tuition fees

The cost of the program amounts to 7.500 euros or 2.500 euros per semester.

The tuition fee is paid at the beginning of each semester.

Required Documents

Applications are also accepted from candidates who will graduate in September 2023.
* Candidates who hold a first-cycle degree from foreign institutions must provide either a certificate of recognition from DOATAP or a degree in order to check whether the foreign institution is included in the National Register of recognized foreign institutions, as well as the National Register of types of degrees of recognized foreign institutions. It is noted that if Greek territory is confirmed as the place of studies or part of them, the degree is not recognized, unless the part of studies that took place in Greek territory is in a public A.E.I.
** Applications are also accepted from candidates who will receive relevant evidence up to their registration at the PMS and the very good knowledge of the English language is proven by language qualifications of a corresponding level accepted by ASEP, as well as a degree from an English-speaking university of the foreign country
*** Additionally, ONLY for the E-MBA: Evidence of recent professional experience covering a period of at least three years after obtaining the first degree (certifications from employers). A candidate who has three years of proven experience in a senior or senior management position may be admitted without the condition that the relevant experience has been acquired after obtaining the first degree.
